Designer Ziliani, currently a Professor of Product Design at the University of San Marino, prioritises three main focuses in his work: sustainability, human-centred design, and “lean producibility”. All three central philosophies can be observed in the design of the Salo range.

Salo’s slimline, tubular structure envelops the backrest of the chairs and stools, providing steadfast support. Featuring curving surfaces that follow the shape of the human lumbar, sacrum, and coccyx, the seating epitomises human-centred design.

A minimalist approach to the use of materials reflects Marcello Zilliani’s ‘lean producibility’ philosophy, in which waste is cut out from the very beginning at the design stage, resulting in a more sustainable, economic, efficient product from the start.

Salo integrates effortlessly into any contract or household setting, thanks to the use of sophisticated finishes and materials.
